- MADE IN GERMANY - The Panzer is a field shovel, made for smaller and compact digging jobs. The long shaft allows for one or two handed use, making this hand trowel an extremely versatile digging tool. The oversized head offers more digging power than other digging tools this size. Manufactured by hand as they were 100 years ago, we are the only industrial manufacturer of landscape tools in Germany since 1899. Quality is not just a slogan for us, we live this motto!
- THE LINSEED OILED FINISH will protect the wood against the elements and moisture, and from drying out over time. The bead blasted powder coated finish on the head will protect against rust, and gives a uniform appearance for the product line. Proper care will significantly prolong the handle’s life. Our handles are linseed oil finished for long term protection. Maintain and protect the handle with a proper wood finish for long term protection.
- BEAD BLASTED PREMIUM GRADE GERMAN C50 CARBON STEEL HEAD - Ideal logo stamped - Heat treated and oil hardened - Sharpened profile blade edge. The steel blank is heated to approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. An indentation is pressed into the blank from both sides. The steel is rolled in multiple stages, which is strengthening the steel and increasing density. A bead blasted finish creates an even and matte appearance, while protecting against rust and corrosion.
- HANDLE - FSC Certified German Ash - Straight shaft - Knob grip - Individually selected for grain orientation and density - 150 grit smooth sanded - Linseed oil finish. Our saw mill cuts the Ash logs into planks, which are then stored and softly air dried for 9 to 10 months, depending on the weather in Northern Europe that season. Our proprietary drying process will bring the wood's moisture content down to a precise level, before the wood is ready to be made into handles.
- SPECIFICATIONS - Total Length: 25 in. - Head Width: 6 ½ in. - Total Weight: 2.5 lb. Carbon steel is susceptible to rusting over time. Rust can be prevented by keeping the steel head oiled. If rusting does occur, use steel wool or an abrasive to remove the rust, and then wipe down with our Axe-Guard Head Oil. Axe-Guard is a metal protecting and rust preventative oil, and the residue is safe for contact on leather, wood, or skin.
