When designing this new headlamp, Nitecore was trying to solve 2 problems that users were complaining about. How do you get longer runtimes and brighter output without adding weight?

On the market today, the only way to break the 1000 lumen mark in a headlamp was to use the bigger 21700 batteries, and with 1000 lumens you need a way to get rid of the heat that's why many 21700 headlamps are all aluminum, and that's where the weight comes from.

So users always had to content with brightness vs weight vs runtime. More weight = brighter and longer running. Less weight = less bright and short runtime.

That changes today with advancements in manufacturing methods. They were able to combine high-strength plastic as the main body of the headlamp but keep the front aluminum for impact resistance and heat dissipation.

This cuts 30% of the weight, removing the need for a center headband for increased comfort. Not only that, with advancements in charging tech, they also cut the charging time from 5 hours to 2.5 hours. Just these 2 things alone they managed to cut weight and charging time, yet extend runtime and boost the max brightness to a blinding 1400 lumens.
